Learner agency and course design

学生が自ら目標を立て、学びを動かしていく授業はどう設計できるのか。優れた実践に埋め込まれた「設計の知」を、教員との対話を通して言語化することに取り組んでいます。

How can courses be designed so that students set their own goals and drive their learning? I work to articulate the design knowledge embedded in effective practice through dialogue with teachers.

Teachers’ communities of practice

大学を越えて教員が学び合う実践コミュニティや、オンライン授業の相互ピアレビューによるFDを研究しています。実践知をパターン・ランゲージとして共有する試みも続けています。

I study cross-institutional communities of practice in which teachers learn from one another, including faculty development through peer review of online classes, and share practical knowledge as pattern languages.

国際協働学習と異文化理解

International collaboration and intercultural learning

COILやオンライン国際学生会議、短期海外研修が、学生の自己効力感やコミュニケーション意欲、異文化理解にどう作用するかを実践をもとに検討しています。

Drawing on practice, I examine how COIL, online international student conferences and short-term study abroad shape students’ self-efficacy, willingness to communicate and intercultural understanding.

授業学（関西）研究会Kansai Study Group on English Teaching Practice

  • 実践の共有と研究Sharing and researching practice英語授業の実践を持ち寄り、授業づくりの知見を共有・研究しています。研究会の論集にも論文を寄稿しています。Teachers bring their classroom practice to share and research what makes lessons work; I have contributed papers to the group’s journal.
  • AI活用に関する調査Survey on AI in English learning大学生の英語の授業・学習におけるAI活用について、研究会のメンバーと調査に取り組んでいます。With fellow members, I am investigating how university students use AI in English classes and study.
  • 輪読会Reading circle『インストラクショナルデザイン理論とモデル』などの輪読を通して、授業設計の理論を学び合っています。Reading works such as Instructional-Design Theories and Models together to study course design.
